Jack Paulin ran Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track for three years. He was twice awarded "Ohio's Top 10 in Track" certificated for his efforts in the '42 and '43 State Track Championships. Jack was the only runner in Latin history to take first place in the 880 yard run three years in a row at the District Meet. He also set the district record for the 880 yard run. In his senior year as team co-captain, Jack finished second at the Mansfield Relays in the mile run. He was first in that event in the Cincinnati K of C Meet. The Cleveland Plain Dealer recalled Jack as "one of the best half-milers in the state." He was considered All-State in track.Â
