Hall of Fame
Joe was a fine all-around athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. He notched 11 letters at Latin and played for the state basketball championship twice. Joe was an All-Ohio Honorable Mention twice for football and a NE Ohio All-Star in baseball.
A memorable moment was his school record 88-yard interception return for a touchdown against New London. Joe was captain of the football team and named Defensive MVP. He was a defensive force in holding St. Ignatius to two field goals to preserve a 12-6 Latin victory - the last meeting between the schools.
Joe went on to play football at Eastern Michigan where he was Team MVP as a senior.
