Thomas Rodeno, class of 1964, was an outstanding defensive end for the Lions and was chosen on the All-East Senate and All-Catholic teams as a senior. Although his senior team won four, lost five, and tied one. Although his senior team won four and lost five, they beat the City Champions, Benedictine 21-14 during the regular season and tied highly ranked St. Joseph. In addition to playing football, Tom was also a regular during his junior and senior years as a basketball player. He was a co-captain as a senior due to his outstanding leadership qualities.

He attended the University of Nebraska and played football until he was injured in his sophomore year. Rodeno served as the JV football coach at Latin in 1970 and had an 8-1 record.
