William Zoller started out playing in the backfield as a fullback in his junior year on a team that was 7-3. As a senior, he was shifted to guard and was captain of the team which was 7-2 and won the City Championship, defeating Lincoln 18-12 before 40,582 fans at Cleveland Stadium. He was selected on first team All-Scholastic at his position. Bill also played two years of hockey as a sophomore and junior - there was no team his senior year. The team was City Champs defeating Holy Name two out of three games.Â
Zoller entered the service after graduating from Latin for two years, after he went to Case Tech, where he played football.
