Bill Dagg played basketball on the freshman Minims team as a sophomore on the Reserves. In his junior year, he was a regular end on the varsity football team that was undefeated, scoring 293 points and allowed only 18. The team won eight games and had two ties, both with Cleveland Heights High School. One in the regular season 6-6 and in the Charity Game 0-0, making Latin co-City Champs. Bill was selected to All-Catholic first team.
As a senior, Bill showed his versatility by switching from his end position, where he attained All-Catholic rating that season as a junior, to roving center, a position entirely new to him. Latin lost their first game of the season to John Adams, who won in the Charity Game that season. Latin went on win the next seven games in a row to finish 7-1. Bill was selected on the All-Catholic first team for the second year in a row, this time as a center. He also gained honorable mention on the Press All-Scholastic team. During his two years as a regular on the varsity football teams, Latin won 15 games, lost one, and tied two. The only game that Latin lost that season, Bill was injured and did not play.
